It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC). The SPRC is based within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of New South Wales.

The SPRC was established in 1980 to conduct research on all aspects of social policy - to disseminate research findings, to promote research training through postgraduate study and it's recently introduced internship program and to contribute to policy development.

The SPRC's strength lies in its multi-disciplinary team of more than 60 talented researchers including economists, sociologists, political scientists, statisticians, experts in law, social work, child development, care, education, demography, psychology, econometrics, history, political economy and public health.

Our vision is to be recognised nationally and internationally as a leader in designing and undertaking rigorous and influential social policy research which contributes to policy development and well-being.

Our mission is to conduct and disseminate policy-relevant social research that meets and extends the highest standards of excellence, and to promote research training.

I hope you find this website informative and if you would like further information about the SPRC don't hesitate to contact us.
