Early Childhood Intervention Australia NSW/ACT (ECIA) has commissioned the Social Policy Research Centre to conduct research into the experiences of families and early childhood intervention (ECI) service providers in the transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in NSW. The purpose is to identify any issues in the transition and to assist in addressing these issues for the full roll out of the Scheme. The research is a 20-month study, including interviews and surveys. It will include pre- and post-NDIS comparisons, and a focus on the views and experiences of family members with different levels of experience of the NDIS and of service providers in a different roles in ECI and in mainstream services.
