Ayah Wehbe has a Bachelor of Social Research and Policy (Hons.) degree from UNSW, where she completed an Honours thesis on women with hearing impairment who come from an Australian, Lebanese-Muslim background in 2016. Since then, she has been working on various research projects, mostly about disability and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). They include Review of the National Disability Strategy 2010 - 2020, Outcome Evaluation of Community Participation Grants and Peer support practice review. Ayah’s research interests are disability, deaf studies and diversity. Ayah also shares her own experiences as an Australian Muslim Woman with hearing loss through her blog called Silent Signs (http://silentsigns.net/).
