Overview

Dr Kristy Muir is the Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and a Senior Research Fellow with the Social Policy Research Centre at the University of New South Wales. Her research focuses on social policy and vulnerable individuals, families and communities. She has specific research interests in social inclusion and mental health, disability, young people and families.

Kristy has expertise in undertaking large-scale, qualitative and quantitative research projects and evaluations. She works closely with government departments and non-government organisations to inform social policies, programs and services. Kristy was previously the Director of the Disability Studies and Research Centre, UNSW. She has a PhD in social history and, prior to joining academia, worked in the not-for-profit sector.

Teaching

HDR Supervision: Kristy Muir is keen to supervise Higher Degree Research candidates with an interest in social policy and mental health, disability, families and young people.
