Overview
Christine Eastman is a Senior Research Officer at the Social Policy Research Centre. Christine joined the SPRC in 2009 after working for several years in research, evaluation and advocacy roles within Government and non-government
community organisations.
Christine's research experience crosses both quantitative and qualitative methodologies with a particular focus on survey and sampling design, data management and administrative dataset analysis and linkage.
Christine is currently completing a Master of Applied Statistics, and is a member of the Statistical Society of Australia.
Current and recent projects:
- Managing the regional statistical and policy expert team for the analysis of Child Poverty and Deprivations in Kiribati (part of a global study for UNICEF)
- Analysing Centrelink administrative data for the evaluation of the New Income Management program (for the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs)
- Collection and analysis of employment data from Social and Community Services (SACS) providers in receipt of direct Commonwealth funding (for the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations)
- Analysing data related to the expansion of the residential determination program to place children and vulnerable families in community-based detention (for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship)
