The Social Policy Research Centre is committed to supporting and training the next generation of social policy experts. The training of Higher Degree Research candidates is an important part of what we do. The SPRC recognises the importance of higher degree learning in the development of its own research program and in the pursuit of new knowledge.
The SPRC researchers have national and international reputation as being the best in their field and can provide Higher Degree Research supervision on all areas of Social Policy. The SPRC hosts many visitors from Australia and throughout the world which strengthens scholarship and collegiality
The Social Policy Research Centre provides interdisciplinary PhD training in social policy in a stimulating and supportive environment. The SPRC offers a unique opportunity for higher degree by research study at PhD and Masters by Research in areas that explore and extend the theory and practice of social policy in Australia and internationally. Higher degree research students enjoy a rich, collegial research culture and the benefit of studying within a centre recognized for its excellence in social policy research and engagement with other academics, government and non-government policy makers and service providers, creating knowledge partnerships.
From 2010, SPRC will award top-up scholarships to eligible students enrolled in the SPRC PhD program. The scholarships, valued at $5,000 - $10,000, will be awarded on a competititve basis to students holding an Australian Postgraduate Award, Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) or International Postgraduate Award.
